Justice Won't Prevail in Silence
Project: create a campaign for a social cause one is passionate about.
A Social Justice Campaign project on Unsolved Murders
For my design, I wanted to include Lady Justice as the prominent figure in the campaign. I decided to have Lady Justice stabbed by her own sword, symbolizing the overtaking of corruption within the system. To further send this message, I made sure her scales were tipped to show the unbalance.
As for the animation, I wanted to create a short, visual story that focused on emotionally communicating the problem and how to help.

Before this iteration came to be, my original idea was entirely different. I wanted to have a more emotional statement, having the victims being represented by a red dot, with a booklet of hundreds of these dots.

However, I realized the design felt sterile or hospital-like and lacked any sense of humanity.

So I decided to go the opposite direction and make it feel full of life. Here you can see my sketches for Lady Justice.
The Process

When it was time for the animation, here was my originalstoryboard for the animation. The issue that arose was it did not align with my campaign message that was to get justice for those who already passed.
What's so special about this project?
This was the project where I feel I found my design style. In older work (some within this site) I leaned toward heavy line work and a more sketched, hand-drawn style.

But it never felt right.

It wasn't until this project I feel it clicked, and this project is one of my favorites I've ever done.
